    CTSAMM launches an investigation in Jonglei

    On the 3rd of January 2018, the CTSAMM were informed by the SPLA of the movement of administrative convoys intending to travel through areas of northern Jonglei State. Subsequently on the 13th of January 2018, CTSAMM received allegations regarding ongoing hostilities in the area where the administrative convoy was said to be. Full Press Release Here....

    The Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism (CTSAMM) welcomes the signing of the Agreement on the Cessation of Hostilities, Protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Access by the Parties attending the High Level Revitalization Forum in Addis Ababa on 21st December 2017. The CTSAMM stands ready to engage the Parties in light of expansion of the CTSAMM mandate as stipulated by the Agreement. The CTSAMM is also deeply concerned about the recent allegations of breaches to the Cessation of Hostilities (CoH) Agreement in Unity State, Central Equatoria and Western Equatoria, and has launched investigations in the affected areas.     CTSAMM MONITORING AND VERIFICATION TEAM DENIED FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT BY GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES TO THE WAU SHILLUK AREA.

    On 7 February 2017, CTSAMM requested through the Joint Military Ceasefire Commission (JMCC) access to verify allegations of violations of the Permanent Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements (PCTSA) in the corridor between Malakal and Renk, including Wau Shilluk. This request was then approved by JMCC. A CTSAMM Monitoring and Verification Team (MVT) then planned and coordinated a patrol to Wau Shilluk to be executed on the 10 February 2017. However, due to a mortar attack in Wau Shilluk during the early morning of 10 February 2017 the patrol was delayed to 16 February 2017. Full Press Release...
