Japanese Ambassador, His Excellency, Seiji Okada, presents medals to outgoing ceasefire monitors

April 16, 2018, Juba, The CTSAMM held a medal ceremony for outgoing ceasefire monitors to recognise their contribution to the mission. The monitors will be leaving the CTSAMM as they have completed their one year rotation with the mission. Presiding over the ceremony was the CTSAMM Chief of Staff, Theasa Burns.

The Chief of Staff remarked on the dedication the monitors had shown in the course of discharging their mandate and recognised the determination they displayed in the face of many challenges. She then invited the Japanese Ambassador, His Excellency, Seiji Okada, to present the monitors with their medals. The Ambassador thanked the monitors on behalf of the international community and also commented on the importance of the peace process and the integral role that CTSAMM plays in monitoring the security situation. Representatives from Kenyan Embassy were also in attendance including the Kenyan Defence Attache.
