CTSAMVM holds 4th Board Meeting in Juba

The Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism held its 4th Board Meeting in Juba today.
Chairperson Maj.Gen. Desta Abiche Ageno welcomed the members and noted that this was the second time the CTSAMVM Board Meeting was being held in Juba, adding “This represents a significant milestone and shows momentum for progress in the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.” He further stated, “I truly believe that by working together, we can ensure effective implementation of the Permanent Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements, and contribute to a more secure and stable country.”
The Chairman further remarked, “Another positive development is the deployment of 36 National Monitors. As many of you are aware, the Revitalized Agreement stipulates that CTSAMVM should deploy a national monitoring component,” mentioning, “We worked with the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU), other Parties, Stakeholders, Partners and Donors to resolve this issue. I want to thank all that were involved in assisting us to deploy the National Monitors.”
The CTSAMVM Board constitutes of members of the Parties as well as the international community and non-political stakeholders such as women’s groups, youth, civil society and academia.
