CTSAMM MONITORING AND VERIFICATION TEAM DENIED FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT BY GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES TO THE WAU SHILLUK AREA.

On 7 February 2017, CTSAMM requested through the Joint Military Ceasefire Commission (JMCC) access to verify allegations of violations of the Permanent Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements (PCTSA) in the corridor between Malakal and Renk, including Wau Shilluk. This request was then approved by JMCC. A CTSAMM Monitoring and Verification Team (MVT) then planned and coordinated a patrol to Wau Shilluk to be executed on the 10 February 2017. However, due to a mortar attack in Wau Shilluk during the early morning of 10 February 2017 the patrol was delayed to 16 February 2017.
