CTSAMM inducts new International Observers and Liaison Officers

From 20th to 24th November 2017, the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism conducted induction training for its new international observers and liaison officers. The purpose of the training was to provide an overview of the CTSAMM mission and policies as well as the Agreements and procedures CTSAMM uses to fulfill its mandate in South Sudan.

To mark the end of the training, CTSAMM organized a graduation ceremony which was attended by CTSAMM Chairman MG. Molla Hailemariam, Deputy Chairman MG. Tariq Abdelkarim, guest of honors H.E Amb. Fissehe Shawl of Ethiopia, H.E. Amb. Aadim Ibrahim of Sudan and Representatives from the Kenyan, Ethiopian and Sudanese Embassies.


During the ceremony, MG. Tariq thanked the Ambassadors and Representatives for attending the event and welcomed the new international monitors and liaison officers to CTSAMM. He encouraged the monitors to work very hard to help the people of South Sudan attain peace stating that “Your commitment will be critical to support the peace agreement”.

H.E Amb. Fissehe Shawl of Ethiopia also welcomed the international monitors and liaison officers; and reiterated his support to CTSAMM’s mission in South Sudan. He noted the importance of the CTSAMM mission in the IGAD led revitalization process and thanked MG. Molla for his great leadership, and CTSAMM’s contribution to the peace process in the country.
