CTSAMM attends official launch of the Joint Operations Centre

On 17th August 2017, the Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism chairman, MG. Molla Hailemariam joined by other CTSAMM officials attended the opening ceremony of the Joint Operations Centre (JOC) at Nyakuron Police Facility in Juba.

The JOC was established as a mechanism to avoid conflict and ensure coordination of security forces operating within Juba as per Chapter II, article 5.5 of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan, ARCSS.

At full capacity, the JOC will operate 24 hours a day and constitute of representatives from the South Sudan National Police Service, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), the National Security Service (NSS), the Presidential and Vice Presidential Guards, the Prison Services, the Fire Services, the Wildlife Services, United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and CTSAMM, among others.

CTSAMM’s contributed five member team will support JOC in coordinating security arrangements within Juba.
