CTSAMM is an institute of the Agreement on the Resolution of the conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCSS) signed by the Government and SPLM/A-IO in August 2015.

Officials from GIZ paid a visit to CTSAMM on 19th October 2017, Dr. Ute Boettcher from the Governance and Conflict Section (Deutsch Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and Mr. Christian Gruenhagen, the Regional Program Manager for GIZ were briefed by the CTSAMM Chairman and select personnel on the organization’s history, mandate, activities, accomplishments and challenges. On 18th October 2017, Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism Chairman M.G Molla Hailemariam joined by other CTSAMM officials attended the 20th JMEC Plenary in Juba. M.G Molla remarked that CTSAMM has discussed four draft reports which related to ceasefire violations by the warring parties in various parts of South Sudan at the 13th members meeting on 23rd August 2017. CTSAMM MEDAL CEREMONY FOR OUTGOING CEASEFIRE MONITORS On 6th October 2017, The UK Ambassador to South Sudan, Alison Balckburne, was the Guest of Honor at the CTSAMM medal ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of outgoing ceasefire monitors. Reporting on gender dimensions 0

On 21st September 2017, CTSAMM conducted training for its staff on the integration of gender dimensions within South Sudan in the Monitoring, Verification and Reporting (MVR) process. As stipulated in Chapter II article 1.7 of the ARCSS, CTSAMM is mandated to monitor, verify and report on the compliance of the Permanent Ceasefire agreement with focus on gender, including violations against women and children. CTSAMM staff appreciated the training and remarked on the relevance of gender mainstreaming in the MVR process. CTSAMM attends official launch of the Joint Operations Centre 0

On 17th August 2017, the Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism chairman, MG. Molla Hailemariam joined by other CTSAMM officials attended the opening ceremony of the Joint Operations Centre (JOC) at Nyakuron Police Facility in Juba. CTSAMM MVT denied freedom of movement to the Lasu area, in Yei 0

  As part of the CTSAMMs ongoing mission to monitor the permanent ceasefire and transitional security arrangements, the CTSAMM is currently undertaking a two week mission to the Yei area. CTSAMM conducts training on Gender Sensitivity 0

On 14th August the Juba Monitoring and Verification Team concluded a two day training on Gender Sensitivity. The training was organized to enable the MTVs to monitor, verify and report on the compliance of the Permaenet Ceasefire agreement with major focus on gender, including reporting on violations against women and children as per article 1.7 of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan. From 24 – 26 July, 2017, a CTSAMM Monitoring and Verification Team travelled to Wonduruba Payam in Central Equatoria to assess the security situation and compliance to the Permanent Ceasefire. On the 15th July 2017 the newly appointed IGAD Special Envoy to South Sudan, Ambassador Ismail Wais, visited the CTSAMM HQ.
